BitScribe is designed from the ground up to respect your digital privacy. Your media libraries, folder names, and file catalogs stay 100% local on your own hardware.
1. Local-First Media Stewardship
Zero cloud upload for local media catalogs
BitScribe Digital Media Library Steward (DMLS) operates as a standalone local desktop application. When you add media folders or run scans, all analysis, metadata extraction, container probing, and duplicate detection occur strictly on your local computer or server.
No directory paths, filenames, movie/TV titles, audio tracks, resolution stats, or library structures are ever transmitted, synced, or backed up to remote servers or cloud services.
2. No Analytics, Tracking, or Telemetry
We do not track you or build usage profiles
We strongly believe software should serve its user, not spy on them. Neither the BitScribe desktop application nor this website collects telemetric data, user usage patterns, feature clicks, or IP logs.
- No Google Analytics or Ad Trackers: This site uses clean static assets with zero tracking cookies or targeted ad pixels.
- No Phone-Home Scripts: BitScribe does not log or upload background health reports or usage metrics.
- No Marketing Profiling: We do not sell, rent, or trade user information with advertising networks or third-party data brokers.
3. Contact Support & Data Transmission
How support messages and attachments are handled
When you voluntarily send a message through our Contact Support form, the information you provide (your name, return email address, inquiry text, and optional screenshot attachments) is transmitted securely via FormSubmit to our official support mailbox ([email protected]).
This data is used exclusively to respond to your technical questions, bug reports, or feature requests. It is never added to newsletter lists or shared with third parties.
Email Address Protection: Target email addresses on our contact form are dynamically obfuscated at runtime to prevent automated scraping bots from harvesting our contact info or your submission endpoints.
4. Your Data Ownership & Deletion
Full autonomy over your local data
Because all BitScribe databases, reports, and setting preferences reside locally on your device, you have complete ownership and control over them:
- Exported Excel & JSON Reports: Stored in the output directory of your choice on your system.
- Local Databases & Cache: Can be wiped or deleted at any time directly through your file explorer or by resetting application options.
- No Cloud Accounts to Terminate: Since BitScribe does not force you to register an account or log in, there are no remote user accounts or stored cloud profiles to request deletion for.
